History
A Legacy of the Dogra Kings
Commissioned by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1835 and completed by his son Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1860, the Raghunath Temple is the spiritual anchor of Jammu. The complex consists of seven distinct shrines, each with its own Shikhara (spire). The main temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, the eighth avatar of Vishnu and the patron deity of the Dogra community.
